The anecdote explores three different people, their individual points of view, and all of their life experiences up to that moment. A Black man has experienced a lot of racism and believes it to be about race. A customer service person lives on the edge financially and is worried about their livelihood. I, a white woman who has experienced neither of their points of view, have to decide in a split second which one is more important. This is the question that the quandary that the story poses.
